  • So not what I was expecting when the bar is named the LA times I was expecting more of an upper class fancy bar. Instead, Instead, I got more of a local bar dive bar feel. That’s on me. I should’ve read more reviews and did more research before I went. Really like that they had the golden tee game. And a couple of local draft selections. The night I was there they were having a pool tournament and the crowd at the end got a little rowdy… But overall seem like a nice place. I’ll definitely check it out again.

  • Great bar in an off the beaten path location. Pulling up it is deceiving just how nice it really is on the inside. The people were great and the atmosphere was relaxing, they make you feel at home. The Whiskey Rebellion bar off to the side is very impressive. It is like stepping into a high end VIP location just through the door. The drinks are great and very reasonably priced. We went while traveling through and it is a must stop for our next trip.

  • Traveled all the way from Woodstock, Georgia, to go spend five days in a cabin on Cape Lookout Island. What an awesome experience. Was on my way back to Georgia on November 3rd when I found a place to stop and rearrange my truck and get settled in for the trip. I thought the place was a restaurant and needed to go use the restroom when I went in. I was surprised to find a quaint little cool bar in the middle of nowhere. Two nice pool tables an area for people to play chess in in the back and smoke a stogie lot of cool things on the wall pictures some Halloween scary stuff really cool place so I decided to have a cool blue moon. Was really impressed but I have a warning for all you locals. Be aware Smokey the Bear is waiting yards away from the bar. I pulled out onto the roadway doing about 15 set my adaptive cruise control for 55 which was the speed limit and because the truck took off real loud I got pulled over and got a bogus ticket for 94 in a 55 any refuse to show me the radar read out because it was bogus I blew a point zero and passed his field sobriety test. That just took all the joy out of me that night all the way home. I won't let that stop me from going back to the Outer Banks for more fishing and maybe even stop by LA Times again for another cool blue moon, hopefully a different response when I leave. So be aware that when you pull out of that parking lot, don't do it, you can think about it but don't do it, trust me. So until next time, thank you for the cold blue moon

  • Great atmosphere, sports bar, speakeasy cigar bar fun. Super friendly staff. Great place to drink alone. Buy a cigar and whiskey and pretend you are in... LA(?) Bikers, country club crowd, and everyone in-between have a home here. All new inside. Little or no cell service. No customer internet service yet(only gripe). Food via food truck. Huge back area w/stage for music.

  • If you’re looking for a bar in Leland this place is it! It’s worth the short ride/uber to the edge of town!!! We discovered this place after moving a short two miles away. We had really high hopes for a place near home that could become “our” place. This place exceeded our expectations in every way and continues to impress us every visit. This place has a large traditional bar room with multiple new pool tables and arcade games in addition to a second bar room that gives a speak easy vibe. You are able to sit back and relax and maybe buy yourself a cigar from their wide collection. (Don’t worry though the bar is non smoking :) ) Let’s not forget to mention the dozen mounted TVs across the bar with any game you want! La times has TWO great patios for being outside and also has free table tennis! They have a great stage on the lawn for some gnarly summer concerts too! The owners and staff are so welcoming and friendly. They recognize all of the usual faces and really make you feel welcome. Morgan, the bartender, is incredible at her job and always manages to put you in a good mood. Overall we are very thankful to have LA times and we will continue to be welcomed patrons.

  • Savannah at whiskey rebellion was absolutely exceptional during my visit to LA Times. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone. The drinks were fantastic and she is a great person to strike a conversation with. I will definitely be coming back and she truly made my experience better than any other bar I’ve been to. Would recommend to anyone.
